10 Things I Learnt From Mel Robbins IRL

joy Jun 22, 2026

I went to the Mel Robbins Let Them Tour with a notebook in my bag and honestly no idea I'd leave feeling a little bit different. And guys, I TOUCHED HER! Yep, she handed me a note.

What's crazy, though, is that 5 years ago she was depressed and her only goal was to get out of bed.

Things can change! And that goes for you too.

I took these notes on my phone, and I wanted to share them with you.

  1. It's so much easier to be angry than it is to be afraid.

Anger feels like control. Fear feels like freefall. But sitting with fear is where the real work actually starts.

  1. Nobody owes you anything. But you owe yourself everything.

Let that one settle for a second. The life you want isn't owed to you by your family, your boss, or your past. But you owe it to the person you're becoming.

  1. If you keep doing what you're doing, are you on track to become the future version of you?

If the honest answer is no, that's where today changes. Not next Monday. Not next year. Today.

  1. The real skill is teaching yourself to do things when you're afraid.

Because that's how the future version of you needs you to act now. Not braver later. Braver now. Mel was clear, courage isn't the absence of fear, it's the choice you make in spite of it.

  1. You will be shocked how quickly things turn around when you DECIDE to change.

Things don't have to get worse before they get better. That's a story we've been telling ourselves, and Mel was so clear, it isn't true. The turnaround can start the moment you commit.

  1. Let them.

Let people show you who they are. Let people misunderstand you. Let people walk away. The energy you get back when you stop trying to manage everyone else's experience of you is genuinely wild.

  1. Let me.

The real power is the second half of the equation. Let me decide. Let me focus. Let me build the life I actually want. That's the part nobody can do for you.

  1. Motivation is a myth. Action is the strategy.

You don't wait until you feel ready. You move, and the feelings catch up. (I needed to hear that one twice,  and I'm still letting it land.)

  1. The version of you that you're becoming is built in the small, boring moments.

Not on a stage. Not in the breakthrough moment. In the 6 am alarm, the hard conversation, the no you finally said out loud.

  1. Information sharing is powerful.

Mel said this one, and it stuck. What we know, we owe to the people we love. So if any of this landed for you, pass it on.

I wrote these down for myself. But maybe you needed them too.

Save this. Share it with someone you care about. Send it to the friend you know is on the edge of a decision.

Does this resonate?

BIG LOVE
